That's a propane refrigerator which has no moving parts such as a compressor. And of course I did not insulate the hot side. As for the shade, we preferred it shaded outside.

What about using a chest freezer as a fridge.. all you need is a thermostat. external.

solar smolar I,m sick of it. you have to pay a large corp. to make the cells and another one to make the battierys and and yet another for the inverter .thats not offgrid or free and the sun doesn,t always shine.since you will be eating and drinking whats in the fridge just collect your waste and leftovers and let natural bacteria turn it into methane that will run your fridge.costs just the fridge and some hard work taking care of your bacteria farm.

There's a hot side and a cold side, don't insulate the hot side or you will damage the compressor.

Also, always keep in in the shade if outdoors (better yet move it indoors)
