So is that for the Surfliner train or the long-haul trains, or both? I'm wondering because up here in Oakland our yard is seperate from Oakland-Jack London (starting point for Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin trains) and Emeryville (starting point for the California Zephyr) and our crews board in the yard.

why didnt they just bring out the f40s? that would have been epic to see them in use atleast one more time. after all that engine is one of the pioneers of amtrak

When it comes to the train crew (conductors and engineers) do you know if they board and deboard the train IN THE YARD or AT THE STATION in Los Angeles?
