Quite an amazing day in the country side in the Nelson area today.
This Mk 1 Avro Anson runs number 1 engine for the first time with the second to follow in the next few months and it will fly once everything is just right.
The aircraft is coming along well and really is a love affair for the Reid family.
It really is amazing to see what they are doing and this aircraft is being rebuilt to the highest standard and is stunning.
It is hoped the aircraft will fly at Classic Fighters 2011 and one of the team said to me "Don't worry it will be there"
Well done to Bill and his team!!
Amazing !

I know the feeling of a first run too. I had Anson TX183 running back in 1999, shortly before it went to the UAE Museum in Sharjah.

Hi, Anyone know where I could get pictures of this Avro Anson? does it have a MK1 type wing, with the Flaps only going out to rib 7?
