The Station nightclub fire was the fourth deadliest nightclub fire in American history, killing 100 people. The fire began at 11:07 PM EST, on Thursday, February 20, 2003, at The Station, a glam metal and rock n roll themed nightclub located at 211 Cowesett Avenue in West Warwick, Rhode Island.

The fire was caused by pyrotechnics set off by the tour manager of the evening's headlining band, Great White, which ignited flammable sound insulation foam in the walls and ceilings surrounding the stage. A fast-moving fire engulfed the club in 5½ minutes. Some 230 people were injured and another 132 escaped uninjured. Video footage of the fire shows its initial growth, billowing smoke that quickly made escape impossible, and the exit blockage that further hindered evacuation.

  • at 6:20 you can see a guy on fire running out of the building

  • West Warwick still hasn't smartened up about code violations---- I lived in a house where on Sept. 2010 the building inspector posted a 13 violation sticker on the front door. I was renting a room in the apartment, so it was easy to move out,,, HOWEVER,,, the people who rented STAYED THERE UNTIL THE HOUSE WAS CONDEMNED -just last Sept..... WILL THEY EVER LEARN?????????? I have a picture I took of the posted violations,,,, it NEVER should have been occupied so long after that... SMARTEN UP!!!!

  • @warrior2982 My heart cries out for everyone affected... God Bless you my friend. I was at my girlfriends down the road that night,,, we were wondering why so many sirens were continually getting louder and more and more and more kept coming. Until we decided to turn the television on- we had no clue. people do not realize how easy such a thing can happen-- WE NEED TO STOP PUTTING OUR HEALTH SAFETY AND WELFARE INTO THE HANDS OF PEOPLE LIKE THE FIRE MARSHALS AND OTHERS WE ENTRUST WITH OUR LIVES

  • its almost like the guy filming knew about the fire before anyone else and got out just in time. Wow this is so sad

  • Most of the people who have seen this video have absolutely NO idea of the hell this was. I was there that night, and it astonishes me how many DUMB people watch this and say it is fake, or make fun of these people who perished. God has a special place for all you people; it's called HELL. SHAME ON YOU.

  • My prayers go out to all of the families of the victims of this tragedy. May we remember the lessons learned from this and other similar tragedies; no one shoudl have to go through the pain these people did.

  • Its so differcult to know that people are still trapped in this building and you dont hear the screams anymore, may god bless you all!

  • my condolences to the victims, passed and alive, with and without moms and dads, brothers and sisters, on this 9th anniversary...Godspeed

  • @ladyfuschia No it's not worse they are both very horrible events. You couldn't hear the people in the building on 9.11 but you could see people jumping out the window because the heat was so bad. It's gut wrenching to even think about it. RIP to all those lives! xo

  • @alienfriends321 I've heard atleast 25 people say the same exact thing. :/
