SACD lol. Yes, higher definition than cd, able to reproduce in 24bit, but what does that matter when a player with a decent DAC costs $2000+ while less than 0.5% of recorded music is available on the format? It was an audiophile niche for a while, still is although much smaller than it was in the late 90s. Vinyl is just a more collectable medium, with just as high fidelity. What's lost in the format in dynamic range (which isn't much to begin with) is made up in musicality (i.e. jitter free).

@dimebagdave77 Super Audio CD is a hi-res format that is similar to CD, but Sony and Philips who invented CD, basically went back and "re-invented the wheel".
