Bolivia, the poorest country in Latin America, provides clear evidence of the difference that fairer taxation of multinational companies can make to vulnerable peoples lives. The amount of money drained from developing countries each year is would be enough to reach the Millenium Development Goals.

After massive grassroots protests Bolivia raised taxes on gas and oil exports to 50%. Most companies had previously paid as little as 18%. As a result 2.4 million of the most vulnerable people (20% of the population) are receiving financial support.

Campaign for the big tax return with Christian Aid. Join us in the call for country by country reporting of profits by multinationals.
