  • same thing with ja rule

  • Good topic, btw.

  • I think it was because Vanilla Ice's reputation changed and people made it a shame to like Vanilla Ice. Almost like Michael Jackson. It is no doubt now people appreciate his music and legacy, but before his passing people made him look like he had a bad reputation due to his court trials and homosexual rumors. What i'm tryna say is that people fear being judged by others due to association (people, music, beliefs, etc.).

  • I did not buy a Vanilla Ice or Hammer when it came out. I that it was wack back then and I still feel that way. Selling a lot of records does not mean that it's a classic. And "we" did not buy his albums. Look at his demographics and you will know exactly where those sales came from. Come on now, we are talking about the golden age of hip hop (Tribe, P.E, Brand Nubian, etc). Nobody in the hood was bumping that Sh**!!

  • JD I said that 2 and the reason for that is when you are not the shit anymore people start looking at you different and they lose alot of respect too artist that did make it to the top and fall rock bottom I still rock to Ice Ice baby everytime I hear it it takes me back to when I was young (LOL)classic music for sure.

  • cuz people are fake and will switch on you just like that. People are followers too. And these stars today need to take note and dont think for a minute that it cant/will not happen to them.

  • omg i always say the same thing when i hear that song. everyone was listening to it and now everyone acts like it's the most horrible song ever. i personally never liked the song, but i didnt think it was bad, it sounded good, just wasn't my style of music

  • That's real talk. People don't like to admit when they've supported something that others consider fake. Hey I used to jam Ice Ice Baaby!!! That was the shit. It was different to see a white man doing what he was doing back then. Whatever the outcome he was bold enough to step out when he did.

  • JD, some songs just don't hold up!

  • Hate Hate Hate!!!!!!!!! Ice Ice baby is the shit!!!!!!!!!! Still...... Play any new rap record, then play Ice ice baby! U will notice how big in every way records sounded back then. I hate this watered down shit all yall listen to but dont buy now. Music dont even make u feel like we all did when Mc Hammer and Vanilla Ice were killing radio and everything else....... Respect is do people.
