Two Macedonian Mi-24 Military Helicopters take off from Alexander The Great Air Force Base outside of Skopje towards the center of Macedonia, to Krivolak Military Compound.
The Krivolak Military Grounds are the largest training area in the Balkans, and are home to many Macedonian, NATO, and joint military exercises.
The Russian made Mi-24 Attack Helicopters are the pride of the Macedonian Army's helicopter fleet. These helicopters were purchased in 2001 from the Ukraine, during the short internal war against albanian terrorists that crossed the border into Macedonia, following the kosovo conflict. These helicopters have been modernized at an Israeli facility, and have the most advanced Navigation and tactical packages of any Russian Mi-24 helicopters. Macedonia is among only 3 nations in Europe to have such sophisticated Russian helicopters in it's arsenal.

These videos were shot in October 2011, while the helicopters were en route to a joint training exercise with the Slovenian Army. Thank you to the Slovenian Army Photographer who shot this video!
