Every industrialized country in the world understands the need for energy independence. Europe, Russia, China, Brazil and other developing countries are radically expanding energy development. America is receding into the pages of history. If man-made global warming is a reality, it's a 100-200 year issue. Energy rationing is a life-threatening issue of today!
I bet Obama wants to cap and ration energy with cap and trade. Watch you killowatt hours of power. You will only be allotted a certain amonut. Will blackouts become common to save money for healthcare?

there are soooo many rushie necons ... charlie manson, jefferie dahmer ... who insist that nuclear power is the way to go ... but they hardly mention that nuclear power has no liability insurance ... it stands alone in the insurance world ... and hey ... if you spent one penny for each day you stored each 55 gallon drum of nuclear waste ... you would need $36,000 for each drum of nuclear waste ... and lastly ... you need 0.7 KW of oil & coal energy to make 1 KW nuclear energy from fuel rods

75% blame our fuehrer policies for deteriorating economy .. $1B/day for nation building in iraq is causing gasoline prices to soar .. and the oil lobbyists rushie neocons insist that the war must continue for at least another hundred years .. by then gasoline should be at least $2,000/gal .. the rushie neocons believe the way to clean energy is to get more oil and coal and nuclear power ... but nuclear requires sooo much oil & coal to make its fuel rods ... it's win/win .. don't be a bush basher

66% of our consumption is for motor fuel for the 250 million vehicles on US roads (8 million are trucks ). the transportation sector is the best place to start with lowering our demand.
80% of americans travel less than 50 miles per day. PHEVs will get you that far without burning gas or diesel, so ideally you won't buy gas most of the time. it'll be cheaper with a home photovoltaic system.
cellulosic ethanol/butanol, algae-based fuels, and electricity from solar and wind are our energy future

he speaks the truth. the US has about 30 billion barrels in proven conventional reserves, but consumes 7.5 billion per year. not enough!
but, there's about 800 billion barrels *recoverable* from the utah/colo/wyo oil shales (USGS estimate). there's 1.5 trillion total in there.
and there's just under 300 billion tons of coal here, while currently consuming 1.1 billion tons per year.
this should be enough to get us by while renewable fuels scale up. we must bring our consumption down though.
