Talking Point: Supreme Court affirms gun rights

Washington, D.C., Mayor Adrian Fenty expressed frustration today over the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn his city's handgun ban.

In today's 5-to-4 ruling, the high court determined Americans have the right to own guns for self-defense and hunting.

Ron Mullen, a member of the Gun Violence Prevention Center of Utah, and Clark Aposhian, of the Utah Shooting Sports Council, joined us to discuss the ruling tonight in Talking Point.

It is always sad when innocent people die. The cost of freedom from tyranny has always been at a great expense. We could argue about sane gun laws, but ultimately these laws become outright bans which defeat the possibility of freedom from tyranny. One could argue that we have a stable government and no longer need a second amendment but this assumes that our government will always be stable.

There is overwhelming evidence with mountains of statistics and books proving guns do prevent home invasions and are a reasonable means of self-defense. Anyone individual (Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty) disagreeing with these proofs are either illiterate or have an ulterior motive of disarming American citizens! Guns don’t kill people, criminals do! These people must be removed from office to preserver the laws of the Constitution!

I would just love to see one family member of a person that was killed by a criminal with a gun actually use their head and thing instead of just "feeling" that if guns were illegal their loved one would still be alive. It's just not so...
