Today's word is "capricious". This is an adjective which means variable or erratic.
For example, you can say, "Making plans with Tom is tough; he's so capricious that he often doesn't show up when he's supposed to be somewhere."

  • whats ur website?

  • It's like prestigious, also pronounced the two ways. I think the confusion comes from the sound of the i in the root words: prestige, caprice.

  • You can pronounce it both ways actually, check it out:

    ca·pri·cious

    Pronunciation: kə-'pri-shəs, -'prē-

    Function: adjective

    Date: 1601

    This is from Merriam Webster

  • I'm English and I'd also say "capricious" instead of "capreecious". So it's not an American thing then?

  • Hi,

According to my Funk & Wagnells, you're mispronouncing the word. It's not "capreecious," but "capricious." Check it out.
