How to Improve your SSD's Lifespan and optimise your drive:
Disable defrag
Disable Drive indexing
Disable Superfetch/prefetch
TRIM
AHCI
TRIM Explanation: In short it reduces the writes to the flash memory
when deleting files. It is fully supported in windows 7 and Mac OS X
Snow Leopard (and newer) with Apple installed SSD's.
@idesignandcreate Ye, superfetch/prefetch only make a small difference but you should disable drive indexing as it causes a lot of small files to be written. but ye it probably only makes a very small difference anyway :)

I first did all these optimizations on my first SSD but they caused many problems later on, I dont recommend you mess with indexing or super-fetch unless your SSD is old, someone did a myth busters of these ages ago and found the only useful things are TRIM, AHCI and disable-defragging, the others are all myth based and any updated Windows 7 will have set everything right by default.
