There isn't a single member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame who doesn't owe Leon Russell a debt of gratitude. The Master of Space and Time not only deserves induction into the RRHOF, he deserves his OWN WING in the joint.

The dream is now realized.

Leon is now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but I'd like to leave this video up just as a fond memory, and as a thank you to Joe Hall for all his efforts.

Video journalist and university professor Joe Hall provided all of the interview footage for this clip as part of a larger project called "The Leon Lifer Story". I owe a great debt of gratitude to Joe for his enormous contribution which made this clip possible.

Basically speaking it seems that Leon is the Rodney Dangerfield of the music business...he "gets no respect".

Also, Jann Wenner of RRHOF and Rolling Stone, has had a snit about Leon for many years.

The RRHOF board of directors is a nasty bunch of nancy boys and socialites who wouldn't know rock and roll if they fell into a vat of the stuff.

I love Leon and can only say that as an(other) excluded great in the RRHOF, he is in exceptionally good company. Who really cares whether he is inducted into this obviously flawed, politically controlled (by Jann Wenner) institution? What really matters is that he is in the hearts and spirits of his fans. We all know his talent and worth and it goes beyond knowing how to market oneself, such as Madonna has, to stay in the public eye. I'd rather be a Stranger in a Strange Land, any day, with Leon

As a young girl, growing up in Tulsa, Leon was part of my upbringing. My dad travelled for a living and we'd listen to 'Carney" for hours & hours...Daddy was my first love, of course. As an adult, I met my husband and we bonded over our mutual love of Leon. "Song for You" was our song and we played it at our wedding & my husband's funeral. I couldn't say anything more beautiful. Leon's the 3rd biggest love of my life.

At the RRHOF Induction Ceremony for Leon Russell, Leon said: "About a year ago, Elton came and found me in a ditch, by the side of the highway of life. He took me up to the high stages with big audiences and treated me like a king. And the only thing I could say is Bless Your Heart". Leon is so humble. His music is so beautiful. Leon is The Master of Space and Time. Thank you Sir Elton John. We are forever grateful for you - Bless your heart!
