Jam For World In Action - Shawn Phillips

The tune is from a tv programme that has been running in the uk since the early 60s...World In Action... i don't know why but people seem to get mixed up between this and week end world, the theme tune for that was Nantucket sleigh ride by mountain. The company have never officially released this music. credit goes to soundhog who "patched" the theme from bits of old video tape, hope he doesn't mind me uploading it.
As of 16-June_2008 Shawn Phillips has posted the following,I have asked him if he wants me to remove his music as i didn't ask his permission to use it. I am awaiting his reply.

Just so you all know, Shortfits is my nickname for YouTube. thanks for your comments, but I\'d like to set you straight if I may. Jonathan Weston had nothing to do with this piece of music. In fact, he walked into the session, as we were finishing up. I improvised it on the spot with Mick Weaver, and John Shepphard, (Producer for World In Action), paid for the session. At the time, I was not a member of the British Musicians Union, and there was some question as to how I\'d get paid, but Granada told John that night when he called them, that I might make, oh..................2 or 3 pounds at the most. So, Jonathan said we could put his name down as composer, and if anything came in, he would give it to me. Never did any of us dream that this music would run for more than 30 years. it was only 20 years later that I found out Weston had been collecting the royalties all those years. He collected over 189,000 pounds, and never gave me a penny of it. The man was, and remains a slimeball, and an Asshole with a capitol A.

i disagree with this statement i mean i never heard anyone moaning about the banks giving us huge ammounts of money, i mean waaaay more than what they have lost, i think asking people to get mad is a recepie for mob rule, which would bring back hanging god knows what they would do to imagrants, one of the reasons for people lacking in political opinion is because there is less need to now because things are gradually turning more equal poor people have less to complain about its a good thing
