At the end, all of Fischer's chess achievements have become more than tainted by excessive ego and the-world-against-me attitude. I think being a prodigy and becoming the world champion while still so young did not help. Not unusual to see success turning into undoing, because it is more difficult to how to cope with successes than it appears.

I read the transcript of an interview with Fischer on a Philippine radio about how his belongings in the the US was allowed to be robbed, & the US was also behind d Japanese arrest of him.He also says everywhere that d Jews controls d US politics & systems.Now, d only thing d US could do to counter his accusations is to paint Fischer to d public as nothing but crazy.I want counter arguments,I want couter-proof,I want 2 hear a more intelligent response from the US,not just this "he is mad" story.

this is so pathetic. wasted why? he achieved his goals, then just kept to himself, lost his interest in competing... is it the assumed way to "greatness" to make advertising deals and doing TV shows and being a circus monkey basically?

The REASON WHY he was so good was what happened after he won the championship. Comments about waste of human potential are stupid. He developed his potential to the extreme.

@Jonathangrinshpan ignore those people man, theres bad apples in every bunch. all that matters is the individual, and you can be a good/bad person regardless of your origins. honestly, my roots are all in germany (im afraid to look at that ancestry website lol), but my family could care less. the last thing i think about when meeting someone is their origin. its unfortunate that people still dont understand that

Ishaq, how come the billionaire oil-filthy-rich Arabs don't send you food? How come Arafat didn't share his billions with his Palestinian subjects? How come Egyptian aid given to the PLO for the Palestinians was seized by and divided among that party's leaders? You forgot to mention these facts. Come on, stop the blame game.
