This episode of Inside Iraq looks at the changing perceptions of the Iraqi prime minister and asks if he has found a new political compass and courage or if he is merely a paper tiger propped up by the American military forces on the ground.

  • I love this presenter. His English is so funny and yet he spoke in a very confident manner. Very simple and very easy to understand. Anyone know his name?

  • Iranians may be civilized people but the influence of their Arab conquerers is not always civilized. It is under Iranian mullocratic interference that women were being executed in Basra. Iran has being sending Iranian terrorists into Iraq including foreign Al Quaida.

  • ur getting al qaeda mixed up with moderate sunnis. The awakening r gd ppl and ru basically saying that americans should be allied to al qaeda now just cos they armed them in afghanistan?

  • delboy0406: "those 'civilized' Iranians u talk about finance and train the militias of gunmen"

You mean like the US is financing and training the "Awakening Council" Sunni militias? And how the US financed and trained the mujahadeen that became Al Qaeda, led by Osama Bin Laden?

Weren't we fighting the Sunnis, at the start of this war?

  • those 'civilized' Iranians u talk about finance and train the militias of gunmen that patrol the streets of southern iraq who shoot women for wearing coloured headscarves. yes the arabs could do more to control heir borders but they have both commited equally vicious crimes against the iraqi ppl

  • Odd, it didn't seem that long ago that I was picking up the paper and reading "Iran and Iraq fighting at the border increases."

The arab states need to do what Europe did and create a unified country. Alone they are never ever going to emerge as any sort of world power.
