1:12..."TAPED EARLIER TODAY"...NBC's codespeak for "we're going to skip to lap 75 after the first commercial break." I think NBC used to have a 2-hour TV window for the whole 500 miles.

an indy car race at talladega is a very bad idea. nextel cup cars do 200 there WITH restrictor plates, and they weigh 3400 pounds. the speed and g forces exerted on the drivers would be too much to endure. remember what happened when champ car tried to race at texas?

Last time Indy cars ran at Pocono was in 1989. There was an issue with the surface. If they repaved it I think they could run IRL here

Pocono should now be suitable once again for IndyCars, they oughta start racing there again & at Michigan startin in 2012...

for any one who has never been to pocano it is a really nice track i go every year for nascar would love ot see indy cars come back its a really fast track might be ot fast for them but im sure they could find out something they could do like a new gear rule or somtihng to keep the speeds from geting to high

Interesting discussion of Honda's engine in the Brabham at 5:13

@CooterPuppet No, 215-220 was about it. They just didn't have to slow down for the corners as much as the Cup guys do.
-
If it's a 211 qualifying average, what about do they run on the main frontstretch into turn 1? Cup guys average under 170, and hit just about 200 into that turn... So does that mean these cars may have hit over 250?

No, Tony George is responsible for the death of CART racing in America...

Indy car racing is on total life support. Haven't watched Indy car races in a long time. Honestly the series killed itself. Oh well
-
The entire mainstretch was repaved before the 1984 race. The rest of the track was untouched.
