Here is something you "foreigners for finnish" can't enjoy. The Jormas was one of the most popular bands in mid-sixties in Finland. The singer Pepe Willberg was famous in 70's, 80's and 90's with his later groups and is still today.
The tune is composed by Peter Callander and is originally titled "To Make A Big Man Cry" and the translation is probably from word to word the same as the original. It was recorded in 1966 by P.J.Proby and Tom Jones and I do not know which version the Jormas had heard.
There's just right amount of slavic melancholy for finns (although written by brit). For finns there can't be too much self pity. Nothing is enough. Sob sob... gotta drink booze... Koskenkorva for me...

  • Voi, voi, muistoja!

  • Gosh... his hair looks like a haystack!

  • I like the pace of the song, but I don't think I'm as fond of the lyrics. They really could have been much better. No offense!

Nevertheless, I'll give you 5 tähteä for this. ;)

  • OK, the haircut is horrible, but for the music, despite this "really-disapointed" way of singing, this is not so bad, easy listening song, not disturbing at all. Non finnish but i find it nice :)

  • Mitä ! Bad hair day

  • No it would be called Dicks, but i really love this band so i don't want to make fun of it.

  • They should have finished his hair.

  • And that was the reason, because i dont know what they say... Do you speak all those languages you said you like?

  • Well yeah. But i can also explain why you happen to like english, french and italian. Its because they are all part of same language family. You like the languages you can relate to and seem familiar.

Its like me saying only finnish, hungarian and estonian are the only real languages.

I didnt want to sound rude, but youre comment seemed to be really arrogant.

  • Hi LapinPete, If you listen to a song in a language you don't understand how can they sound deep?it may come over all emotional but they could be singing about a spot on the end of their nose for all you know. You have to understand the lyrics too. Ron
