240 Gallon Reef Aquarium Canopy Lift

This video shows the system I built to lift the 110 lb. canopy on my 240 gallon Clarity Plus acrylic aquarium. It utilizes gas shocks and a linear actuator to raise the canopy 24" above the top of the tank. Everything is hidden behind the tank and stand.

@astchiefy Wait for the power to come back on. Not a big deal. I have a backup generator for the aquarium system that can power the canopy too.

cool but a it takes too long and b its easier to have a canopy that lifts up on a hinge.
