  • Amazing, how old is he? My little girl is just 15 months old and I just started training her contacts and weave poles a couple weeks ago. She learned contacts like she'd been doin em' her whole life. I work some form of contacts with her every day, evening if its just conditioning on a contact trainer. Don't have weave poles yet, but I'm getting 12 channel weave poles this weekend. So far, she has them spaced about 7 or 8 inches apart.

  • Thanks! Coal just turned 3 last week. Started weaves & contacts at 18 months. Started w/ running contacts & w/ his speed, switched to 2x2. On poles used channels & initially wanted to "bash" thru the poles but he figured out his own footwork and so didn't need 2 use weave-o-matics to help w/ foot work.

  • Coal looks like an amazing dog! I think I may have actually seen him in person before. Is this AKC trials or USDAA? Nice job with him. :-)

  • By 5 months old she learned all of her left/right directionals on free-standing jumps. At that point I knew that it was the right sport for her. I wasnt sure because I was thinkin maybe just herding because she turned onto herding sheep at 12 weeks old and almost knocked me on my butt! Now she's started to be under control and listen to me more and now I'm able to walk ahead of the sheep....as long as i put her on a down stay!! hahaha
