I HATE THIS ELEVATOR!!!!

It is a true death-trap, and is begging for modernization. On the first floor, it misses the landing by 5 inches, and has to re-level! It also slips, creaks and moans. The chime on this elevator is sickening and disturbing, because it is slow at leveling, so it gives the feeling that the elevator has stopped and the phone is ringing or an alarm has been set off. It used to be a glass elevator, but Crate & Barrel put an ugly white panel over the window. I am not sure what type of hydro it is, because I saw no evidence of the inground system. The window also makes it hard to be a holeless, unless it is a single- jack. Please comment if you know any other details.

Also, I tried to get the machine room on this elevator, but the noises were too faint. Sorry! It wasn't really the machine room, but you could hear the motor faintly!

Techincal Specs:
Brand- Heights Elevator (3rd Party)
Type- Single-Jack Single-Stage Hole-Less Hydraulic
Capacity- 2000 lbs.
Fixtures- EPCO Classic (The hall lanterns were broken and did not ring)
Speed- 75 FPM

  • I think TK would do a good mod. But replacing it with a 330A should not hurt.

  • @an65001 This thing ain't going anywhere for a while.

  • Who does Crate & Barrel use? Thyssenkrapp? KONE?

  • @NHB2010 Schindler.

  • 2:19 why is it doing that

  • @suzzex Too bad. :-( The sooner they modernize that death trap, the better.

  • @NEXPAR Yes. The parking deck elevators also serve as the mall elevators. They are the early 1990's custom Dover classic traction elevators.

  • Oh... the parking elevators.. Did you film those.

  • @NEXPAR Which other elevators?

  • What are those other elevator? Did you film them?

I have a Crate & Barrel in my area but they use Schindler elevators. The motor sounds similar to the one I filmed. Also, it has rear doors.

  • 1994.

  • Looks New. Is It?

  • LOL!!!!! :)

  • 3:39 ANJU IS HERE!!!!

  • Epco Survivor is only vandal-resistant.

  • That's correct, and there are 2 types of Survivor: Original (Standard), and Plus (Vandalproof).

  • You are indeed partially correct though.

  • You a partially right, According to Epco's website, it is called Survivor Plus. There is no evidence on the website that there are two different sets of Survivor.

  • That's interesting, since I've seen Otis, ThyssenKrupp/Dover, and Kone elevators use Epco fixtures. Also, Survivor is the standard package, while the Plus is the vandal resistant package.

  • Epco Survivor is vandal-resistant. THese buttons are no where close to vandal-resistant, and it doesn't matter which company. By the way, Schindler now owns Epco.

  • Yes, but back then, these fixtures were made by Adams Elevator & Escalator Equipment Company.

  • I tried it and it doesn't work :(

  • This is not Epco Survivor.
