During the health care debate on the Senate floor, Republicans criticize the cuts to Medicare in the health care bill, noting a half trillion dollars in cuts would harm hospitals, nursing homes, and Medicare Advantage.
So how come these Republicans didn't mention that the bill closes to doughnut hole in Medicaid, or that it provides additional funding for the Medicare sustainability fund?
Why didn't they mention that the "cuts" were not cuts to services, but anticipated savings from eliminating waste & inefficiencies, such as ending the taxpayer subsidies to private insur. co's to act as unnecessary Medicare middle men?
Do you suppose that the GOP is just trying to kill the bill to bring Obama down?

It's a sad state of affairs when we have to defend a program that should never have existed in the first place.
