JIBILIAN Bass Track to Dennis Lotka's "6 Degrees"

One of the early takes of the bass tracks I'm laying down for Dennis Lotka's new tune, "6 Degrees." Wanted to make it a work in progress as far as my bass playing goes on this tune, as well as putting NS/Stick on top of it all when I'm done. Check back to see how the tune progresses.

Your tone is pretty perfect for this too. Mind sharing what your are doing to get that tone? Amp? EQ? Techniques?

Thanks for the compliment! I'm just going into my Motu828's mic/pre, then direct into the computer. The bass I'm using here is a Fender Roscoe Beck. I'm pretty sure I was using both pickups with the bass EQ 3/4 the way up, and the tone EQ boosted just a bit. The rest is in my fingers attacking the strings/accents, and especially on this tune, muting some of the driving root notes using my left hand by releasing the pressure of my fingers to raise the string just slightly above the fret.
