  • I love how fans of Sonny came hear to listen to and celebrate the man's music and then the Straight Ahead Jazz Police swoop in to inform everybody that "a deaf child could do what Sonny did" or whatever. Thank you for the clarification. You totally changed my opinion on Sonny :roll eyes:

  • that's because you're not as good as sonny

  • @scottybroker - but you were impressed enough to come to this video and comment on it.

  • never was impressed with Sonny.

  • interesting...............not fantastic by any means

  • i think the quality dropped when the strings snapped also the A string was a quarter of a semitone out..... (joke) :D i don't think i 'get' this tbh but at least it makes me think/feel something, i mean its er.. different right?

  • That was the most fun I've had listening to ANYTHING in ages! That was cool!!!! And he was way in to it and broke like 3 strings at the get-go. THAT was the definition of an inspired performance!

  • HES REALLY GETTING OUTSIDE THE CHORD PROGRESSION

  • He's got so few strings left on the guitar in this video that it's hard for me to imagine him playing it any other way.

  • thanks sylvia6566, that is me, andrew scott potter(not andy porter). and you sounded great with sonny also when you played with him........you cant compare sonny to pat. sonny had way more freedom in his shows, didnt really tell us what to play, wanted us to feel it. he was a great leader. check out the other clip , sonny sharrok quartet 2, its a very melodic ballad. he covered a lot of ground, but, always let more freedom happen than arrangements with kicks and extra bars to remember. great man

  • andrew potter on drums
