This is a very nice car. I have a 1979 928 non-turbo but I don't know if it runs or not. I got it in a trade for my '73 Benz (which did run). I went on the word of my friend that the car does run but haven't had the time, money, or key to find that out. It sits beside my '83 944 non-turbo which runs but needs many things

Damn, I responded to this 6 days ago and apparently it didn't go through.
1st, join rennlist and do some research there.
The x-pipe gives gains from 10-40hp dyno tested. Many years of testing were done by
a man named Mr. Ott.
If you listen to the '90 S4 vid, it's my wifes and has stock cats, GT resonators
and RMB. Sounds great but much less HP/TQ than my '88.

Ive read a lot of performance writeups on performance when modifying exhaust and most say just do RMB as anything else usually has a negative effect on power curve, like less power at lower revs, are you happy with the way it sounds? or are you going to experiment a bit more with muffler/resonator options? I take it you modified just for sound?

Mine has the X, high flow cats, GT resonators (no one has figured out what years the car came with the smaller resonators) resonators, RMB. In person it does not sound raspy at all. Some say it is a bit loud, I think it is also, but the performance is well worth it. No way in hell would I just modify it for sound only, that's pretty damn stupid.
