@strife725 i know right. But they're kinda the same thing.

i can't tell if the video is behind or if the music is ahead...but they're off

@TheLastDizon As one of the few survivors of the Potato Chip Famine of '03, I can attest that the proof is in the pudding. I hope this dampens your Anti-Gay Asian/ Pro-Junkie Agenda.

I love both versions ones angry, ones depressing. Both are great.
-
@NuthouseKid88 Exactly. They're both singing the song perfectly, uniquely. Both beautiful songs. Both amazing.
-
@MrCharhead your a fucking retard this song is about his herion addiction and losing everyone because of it no fag shit to it
-
Is it bad when you listen to a song like this and when you hear "empire of dirt" you automatically think of Minecraft?
-
thanks for posting the only copy of this song with decent sound quality

My Empire of Dirt

@NuthouseKid88 Great description in the differences of the two. Both amazing songs in much different ways.
-
@MrCharhead That seemed like a Seth McFarlane themed plot tangent. Seth? Is that you? This isn't an episode of family guy. Creative mind though. I was thinking the EXACT same thing as I slit my wrists and weep while masturbating.

This song is about a gay skinhead who who was transgender and was trying to solicit money to get a sex change and move to the Phillipines so he/she could get married with his/her pedophle drug induced north east asian lover....Its That Simple....If you dont get get it .....then you are just STUPID.

You do realize he's talking about shooting up!

like the song but not the video, and as for johnny cash's cover of it i belive he did a GREAT job of it and the video that went with it was good as well. but this origina is a done GREAT but the video i was not a fan of.

The best sound quality

@AnimalNitrateInMind True dat

Johnny Cash's version isn't that different. He just removed all the anger from the song. Whether you like that or not determines which version you prefer.
-
Amazing. I can't stop watch it.
-
To all you Cash fanboys...sure Johnny put his own spin on it and did it well. But you can't truly like a cover unless you have at least some respect for the original. Keep in mind that Trent was singing about a man disentigrating under the wait of drug addition....hence the raw, unpolished sound and feel of this piece. Jonny was going for something else.
-
Johnny Cash does the definitive version, Leona Lewis the worst.
I know this was the original but it doesn't match Cash' emotional quality.
Shut up about Johnny Cash. This isn't Johnny Cash singing it, so just enjoy the fucking song. Everyone has their own opinion. I prefer this version to Johnny's, doesn't mean I run over to his fucking song on youtube and spam it with needless shit.

@Rachl0l0l0l0 Yeah, Cash took it in a 100% different direction, it's pointless to compare them. NIN pushed a lot harder at the angst, the confusion, the sharpness of the pain, where Johnny sounds (appropriately) like the pain is more of a calloused-over scar, like something from years gone by. They're almost not even singing about the same thing, so each is fantastic for different reasons.
