This video highlights the features of my homebuilt custom cockpit (simpit) for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator (FSX). This setup features a variety of switches and buttons located on the main panel and an additional overhead panel. Two flat panel LCD monitors are also used to display a range of flight insturments and navigation screens. Flight inputs are provided using the Saitek ProFlight system and the Saitek flight pedeals.

The most common question I'm asked is "How much did it cost?" I've posted an entry about this, which you can read at: http://www.flightsimulationguru.com/site/2009/02/01/how-much-did-you-spend-bu...

  • yeah! really cool! how did you built the autopilot? please, i need some help because i will build my own one. thank you

  • The autopilot is no different than any of the other buttons. It's just switches that run through an old keyboard controller with the functions assigned to specific 'keys' in Flight Simulator. @LittleFrogInLake

  • can u say...fire hazard!!

  • Those wires are only carrying 9 volts with very low current so not really... but I agree the back certainly look a bit crazy. @MRMODAMIA1

  • hi . my name is christian , and i'm one question :

how did you separate the tools from the main panel. mean altimeter, horizon secondary VOR and ADF, flap position, brakes etc. to set another screen and to all booths thanks waiting for an answer to make my simulator

  • its a cool idea, but it looks terrible, nothing is straight, all the wood is bent and twisted

i dont see the point in doing something like this if you are not going to take a bit extra time and get it right. sorry just my opinion.

  • @henrasthebest FSX is just a game... X-Plane is called a simulator, but it isn't that popular :(

  • what a wonder full thing im building one to but it ill take al long time

  • H... A... X... O_O

  • @jim82828 It´s a hobby xD

  • ;-) Thanks. I never intended to compete with any of the top end home-builts out there. Personally I'd rather put the extra money towards flying real planes, but that's just me. @naval8viator
