hey what do you think about the new DDR Miami GT LS1? I heared those are starting at like 40 grand (turnkey) developing 345hp@ the ridiculously low curb weight of 800kg/1088lbs. it´s entirely made of kevlar, carbon, aluminium and glass fiber resulting in that astonishingly low curb weight. the negative aspect is it looks like a wannabe Mclaren F1. anyways - if you heared about em - would you consider em a big rival for the GTM? cheers

this is like a Ford GT and a Vette together

@hdidane00 If someone is building a GTM for you, expect to pay at least 65,000 USD for a fairly basic one. 45-50k is a self-build price, and that includes painting it yourself.
-
@hdidane00 It appears that in NJ, the Title will be based on year built, and emissions based on engine year. It may be necessary to own the car and reach a certain mileage in the US before your import country will accept the vehicle as a personal import rather than a commercial import, but it depends where you are importing it. Whitby Motorcars in NC, USA are a British-owned company which build GTMs. I have no idea what they charge. It may be more than the guy here. Why not ask him?

@scaryGTM that's exactly what i want to know do they base it on year of motor which will obviously be 01-06 motors of a z06 or the year it was built cuz i need a title that says 07 and up for export purposes. obviously i cant build it myself cuz i dont have neither the time nor the knowledge n energy. any reputable shops that can do a good job for an affordable price?

@debater96 You'd be surprised how cheap you could get a junked, early C5 vette for, but it'll take a bit of searching on your part. 45k or thereabouts for a self-built GTM using as much as possible from the junked vette will seem like a complete bargain when you first drive it, and remember, it won't cost an arm and a leg to repair/service/maintain, which is what people forget when they buy a slower, used Ferrari for the same money.

@hdidane00 NJ is not a 'SEMA'-state which means you cannot get kit cars titled or smog-exempted based on the year they resemble - as you can in states with SEMA enacted legislation.... BUT it's not a big deal for you since you're building a modern, non-replica. NJ just considers kit cars 'Reconstructed Vehicles' and they are titled according to year built then tested for emissions based on the year of the motor. Be meticulous about collecting receipts; you will need them for a VIN etc

@scaryGTM NJ do u know how they determine that here?
-
@hdidane00 The transmission is the G50 from a 911. Title year depends on your state and how they determine the year of build for a special construction vehicle. It may be assessed on the year the build is finished and registered for road use, but other states go further in order to determine an emissions-standard year for annual testing purposes. What state are you in?

@hdidane00 The mark 2 GTM is designed with the LS7 in mind, so yes.
Wait this isnt Tico airport is it?
