CRUISING ON A JONAS BROTHERS LOVE STORY chp 67

What happened during the dance: Sheryll did dance with Frankie, but on the other side of the dance floor away from Sam and Joe. Kevin didn't show up for the rest of the night and Sheryll left after a couple dances. Joe and Sam only danced once, and Joe felt terrible: he had seen the pained expression on Sheryll's face even though she tried so hard to seem at ease.

The next day

[Sheryll woke up late and everyone was already up and probably having more fun than her. She walked up to the deck and sat in a chair close to the pool. She lay on it and just rested her head as she looked up at the cloudless sky. Another day]
KEVIN: Hey.
[Sheryll was startled]
SHERYLL: Oh hey.
KEVIN: I hope I didn't scare you.
SHERYLL: No. It's fine.
KEVIN: It looked like you were thinking about something.
SHERYLL: No. Just looking up at the sky.
KEVIN: How was the party?
SHERYLL: Umm... Frankie's a good dancer.
KEVIN: [Smiling] He gets his moves from me.
[Sheryll let out a little laugh. He was one of the two people that could make her laugh whenever anything bothered her. Joe was the other]
KEVIN: I saw Joe by the café if you want to go see him.
[Sheryll turned to look Kevin in the eyes to see his intentions, but he turned his head and looked at the pool]
SHERYLL: Kevin, what are you trying to do?
KEVIN: I want you to get back with Joe.
SHERYLL: What?
[Sheryll didn't know if she was angry or just stunned]
KEVIN: I'm sorry for getting in between you two. Really. I am. But Sheryll I don't think I want to get back with Sam.
SHERYLL: But Kevin, she's my best friend and I know she still loves you.
KEVIN: I'm tired of hearing that, Sheryll. Is that the only reason why you won't go out with me? Is that the only reason why you've stayed with Joe ever since you got your memory back? Because I know that once you remembered everything, you remembered you loved me. I could see it in your eyes.
[Now it was Sheryll's turn to look away. Her eyes were so easily read]
SHERYLL: Yes. Yes, Kevin. Sam is the only reason I won't go out with you. But I don't want Joe to hate me for being with you either.
KEVIN: You know as well as I do that Joe will let go if he sees you happy.
[Sheryll knew he was right]
SHERYLL: But Sam.
KEVIN: Sam broke up with me.
SHERYLL: Because you love me.
KEVIN: Do you love me?
SHERYLL: Yes.
[She didn't even stop to think about, but she knew it was true]
KEVIN: Say it.
SHERYLL: Kevin, I love you.
JOE: You were right Kevin.
[Joe had come up behind Sheryll]
SHERYLL: Joe.
[Sheryll got up and faced Joe]
JOE: Sheryll, I get it. You both love each other.
SHERYLL: I'm sorry.
[Joe walked up to her and put his hand on her face to wipe the tears away]
JOE: I'm just glad I know what you're really feeling. Don't ever be afraid to tell me the truth. I promise I can handle it.
SHERYLL: So you're not angry?
[Joe looked her in the eyes]
JOE: No. I'm not. And you'll never lose me. I'll always be... your best friend if that's what you want from me.
SHERYLL: Thank you.
[Sheryll was going to hug Joe, but he stopped her and pointed at Kevin]
JOE: My brothers waiting for you.
[Sheryll turned around and Kevin was standing up. His hand reaching for hers. She didn't stop him this time. Kevin smiled at her and she returned the gesture. She turned around to say something to Joe, but he was already rounding a corner. His hand to his face hiding the tears he didn't want anyone to see]
SHERYLL: So... we're together now?
KEVIN: [Smiling] Do you want to be?
SHERYLL: [Smiling] Yes.
[Kevin kissed her and the thrill sent shocks through her body. She was finally with Kevin]
[They headed toward a restaurant because neither of them had eaten. Sarah and Nick watched them as they walked by]
NICK: Wow.
SARAH: So it's Kevin and Sheryll now right?
NICK: Yeah. And Sarah and Nick.
SARAH: [Smiling] It's always been Sarah and Nick.
NICK: And I don't want that to ever change.
SARAH: I wonder how Sam is going to take it.
NICK: Haven't you seen her?
SARAH: No. I don't think she was in her room when I knocked on her door.
NICK: Well she has to have known something like this was going to happen. Kevin's been after Sheryll for a long time.
SARAH: It looks like they're both happy.
NICK: I bet Kevin is doing flips in the inside.
SARAH: Do you do flips in the inside when you see me?
NICK: [Laughing] I'll do a flip right now if you want me to.
SARAH: [Laughing] Maybe some other time.
NICK: It's so crazy how things can change so quickly huh?
[Sarah watched Nick as he looked over the ocean]
NICK: At least I know one thing in life right now that won't change.
SARAH: What's that?
[Nick bent down to touch his lips to Sarah's]
FRANKIE: Hey. What about me?
[Frankie appeared right next to Sarah]
SARAH: [Laughing] You can have a kiss too.
[She bent down and placed a kiss on his cheek]
NICK: Let's go get some ice cream and a girlfriend for Frankie.
