Eric Gale has waves of pure soul eminating from every note! Pluse hes soloing on an acustic/electric, which by its nature is harder to solo on.

This is classic Grover! I play sax myself, and have been for 26yrs. I can play Winelight, but have never been able to play Mr. Magic.I'm not much of a tenor player anyway. THIS ROCKS!!!! RIP GROVER!

@EZraw87 The best way to keep people off your shore is to shine like a lighthouse, and, brother, your illness is shining enough to help us all steer clear of your little island. You can call him Mr. Gale.

I am a Jazz musician from way back and I know a great jazz guitarist when I hear one...Eric Gale was one of the best along with Grover who could play from here to eternity. This is one of my all time jazz standards (favorites). I never get tired of playing or hearing it.

Thanks. The person who thinks he sucks is just ignorant and obviously did not listen to Eric and all the other pioneers in contemporary jazz. These guys laid the foundation for what became "smooth jazz". Their music is timeless.

@EZraw87 I couldn't disagree more
whoever thinks Eric Gale sucks or somecase doesn't sucks may I suggest to give him a shot or look through his complete discography as with some of his solo work. Eric Gale was the man and still is. RIP to Eric Gale, Grover, and Paul Griffin who are playing strong in heaven. As they said "you'll never love it or know it until you try it."

Eric Gale was an old friend of my co-worker and I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times in 1982. He was a legendary guitar player who had his totally own sound-nobody else could play like him. His solo albums were terrific in addition to the hundreds and hundreds of albums he played on from Grover to Michael Jackson to Stuff. Anyone who has been listening to contemporary jazz since the 80's knows that Gale's reputation speaks for itself. I was very sad when he passed away in 1994.

@eric2181965, true question...and yes that's Anthony Jackson on bass and he wasn't on the Winelight CD either only Marcus Miller the guy on bass. Anthony Jackson had worked on a few or so records with Grover at the time. I'm happy you enjoyed it!

@EZraw87 You don't get it, this brother has deep talent and truly one of a kind. I'm talking about Eric Gale the guitarist. And he doesn't suck either. My best to check his discography including most of his solo stuff.
