2nd & most famous aria of the Queen of the Night from Mozart's "Die Zauberflote", sung by Natalie Dessay (pregnant) at Aix-en-Provence Festival in summer 1994.
She's most probably one of the most beautiful Queen of the night (to me, the best remains my Lucia Popp) . She does not focus on coloratura but on expression through them. Here, the second section is really amazing...

  • This was obviously a slower version than we are used to, but it was utterly perfect and it instantly made me fall in love with Natalie Dessay... what a talent.

  • Mozart was nuts.

  • ha senz'altro una bella voce, ma in quest'aria Lucia Popp resta la migliore

  • 1:25 it sounds like a bird

  • God, this is pretty close to perfection. Jealousy...

  • I place her next to Sumi Jo...both are the best!

  • The tempo was slowered because she was 4 months pregnant while singing the aria so I guess it was easier to sing it this way...

  • That she can maintain the intensity of that song even while kneeling is mind-boggling!!

  • i preffer to diana damrau, but Natalie is good
