This video was made with all USA products, 120v being the standard wall current.

This video will show you how to make a xbox 360 power supply into a AC (home current) to DC (car/some appliance current) inverter. This application can be used to power a car amplifier, CB radio, whatever. It is mostly steered toward car applications in home because the power supply inverts home current into 12v DC at 16 amps. There are different xbox power supplies so check the bottom of the brick for specs, the older one that pumps out 16 amps is the best in my opinion.

Quick summary.
1. Remove all plasic coverings, metal shielding, and further plasic coverings from a few inches of the power supply wire, exposing 4 yellow wires, 4 black wires, and a blue and red wire.
2. Strip all the wires in the main thick ass wire, except for the thin black and thin yellow.
3. Twist all the yellows together and then all the blacks together, then twist the red and blue together.
4. Attach the positive(red) wire from your 12v accessory(ie; car amp) to the yellow wires and electrical tape them together
5. Attach the negitive/ground(black) to the black wires, electrical tape them
6. Electrical tape the red and blue wire splice
7. Plug into wall and test.

  • why did i lose sound at 2:14!?

  • Do you realize that the 'thin' black and yellow wires are the power-supply "remote sense" wires? What they do is provide a way to feedback to the power-brick the ACTUAL voltage at the load. Then, the electronics within the brick will compensate for any voltage-drop in the wires. In other words, the brick has a voltmeter built into it and the thin wires are its leads. When you put a load on the ends of the wires, the brick may put out MORE than 12v to ensure you have 12v at the load.

  • @boysw321 yeah ir does :)

  • :) nice video mate

  • so does the xbox power brick works with 12v with the 2008 xbox?
