It's things like this that make me love nyc so much. I was headed home and heard the sounds of a huge marching band emanating from the depths of Thompkin's Square Park. What ensued was nothing short or of awesomeness...

Update!!! So I wasn't sure just who this conglomeration of musicians was, it was definitely some of the Hungry Marching Band but it seems there were more musicians present. A kindly commenter left this explanation, which I shall copy and paste for you!!! :

"these are members of Hungry March Band from NYC, TItubanda from Rome Italy & Environmental Encroachment from Chicago playing music for the people as part of Brass Explosion and an off shoot of HONK! This is the last night Titubanda was going to be with us before returning to Rome."

If anyone has more specific info as to who and what this awesome spectacle involved and was all about please comment or send info to my box. thanks!

Ha! Yes you do look like him. I wasn't sure but I guess you dispelled the rumor. If you pass the vid on please tell them to watch the hi-def version... Sorry, i'm being a tech geek all of a sudden... Anyhow that was the most fun I've had in months. It just goes to show you that if you pass by something that's potentially fun, you have to bite the bullet and check it out-- because i came pretty close to walking by you guys altogether and heading home... and that would have been a crying shame.

Vadim, excellent job making it seem you were ten cameras, i'm the trombone player with the dalmation bunny hood from Environmental Encroachment Marching Band and Cavalcade, our name wasn't long enough. This is how shows should start, and this was quite the RAD party line-up! Bands were together for the HONK festival in Boston, and we've been flowing down to NYC after for some now official Honking. Thanks for the work and words.
