Faces that Differ

Once upon a time,
I was a nasty son of a bitch.
I bloodied and beat whoever pissed me off.
Just because I could,
And just because they did the same to ME!

But they learned, very slowly,
that when I play the game,
I always play for KEEPS!
Barbed wire! C4 explosives!
NOTHING is too low for ME!

BANG, BANG!!!

And then...I felt neglected.
Mother never loved me.
She never gave me the respect...
Or the LOVE!!!
...that I needed...that I wanted.
I was the disfigured, foul, naughty little brat,
That was forced to take piano lessons against my will!

That's why I smashed my fingers to pieces in rebellion!!!
WITH THAT HAMMER!!!
I lived...in that stinking sewer, with my vermin friends,
Waiting for the day that I could show the world,
Why God neglected me! I WAS GOING TO SHOW THEM ALL,
ALONG WITH MY SOCK,
WHAT IT FELT LIKE TO HAVE ALL THAT DISGUSTING STUFF,
FORCED DOWN MY THROAT!!!

HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

But then...I learned to just chill out, man!
You gotta learn to not get all wound up, baby!
Revel in peace and have a rap at the love shack!
And if trouble heads your way,
Don't be afraid to kick some heavy, duty booty!

Violence ain't exactly a love thing,
But ventin' your rage to promote peace and happiness,
That's what I call gettin' down!

Owww! Have mercy!

Shape-shifting as I have done,
I'm all those people,
And I'm not all those people.
Evolving back and forth,
Going from extreme to extreme,
Journeying the globe,
Fighting warriors...

I'm still a human being.
Still a family man, still a writer...
Still four people with the same face.
Just not the same personality for each one.

My mind is a creation of creativity.

I may not be the man of a 1,000 faces, but so what?
I maybe twice two-faced but that doesn't make me a liar.
I do not suffer from a multi-personality disorder,
I maybe crazy to do what I do,
But at the end of the day,
I remain fascination incarnated.

A gestalt entity.

And that's final.
