SOULsurfer: "I wanna set the world on fire"

I always feel like i write a novel when i write descriptions...haha oh well. ENJOY :)

IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE...seriously, go watch it! Then go watch it again! It's amazing. :D
It's such an inspirational story! On the day the movie premiered, I was on vacation with my family and friends, so I was disappointed I wasn't going to be able to see it the day it came out, but then we remembered that there's a theater in Downtown Disney, so we got to watch it! lol
I was so excited when I found out there was going to be a movie on Bethany Hamilton! She is my hero!! for real. I remember when i was little and I saw her story on some sports channel and it inspired me to take surfing lessons with some friends haha i remember we were like, "I'm going to surf everyday!!!" but we never surfed after we took lessons lmao
but anyways, i went to watch it with my friend Meredith, her sister, and our moms, and our moms cried the whole movie xD so if you're a crier, bring tissues!! :)

HER STORY;;
Bethany Meilani Hamilton (born February 8th, 1990) is an award-winning American surfer. She is known for surviving a shark attack in which she lost her left arm, and for overcoming the serious and debilitating injury to return to professional surfing. On October 31, 2003, Hamilton went for a morning surf along Tunnels Beach, Kauai with friend Alana Blanchard along with Blanchard's father and brother. Around 7:30 a.m., with numerous turtles in the area, she was lying sideways on her surfboard with her left arm dangling in the water, when a 14 ft (4.3 m) tiger shark attacked her, ripping her left arm off just below the shoulder. If the shark had bitten two inches further in, the attack would have been fatal. She lost nearly 60% of her blood. Her friends helped paddle her back to shore, and fashioned a tourniquet out of a surfboard leash around what was left of her arm before rushing her to Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Her father was supposed to have knee surgery that morning but she took his place in the operating room. She then spent seven more days in recovery at the hospital.

Despite the trauma of the incident, Hamilton was determined to return to surfing. Less than one month after the incident, she returned to her board and went surfing again. Initially, she adopted a custom-made board that was longer and slightly thicker, which made it easier to paddle. She has observed that she has to kick a lot more to make up for the loss of her left arm. After teaching herself to surf with one arm, she has again begun surfing competitively. She is now back to using competitive performance short-boards again.

In July 2004, Hamilton won the Best Comeback Athlete ESPY Award. She was presented with a special courage award at the 2004 Teen Choice Awards.

In 2005, with one arm, Hamilton took 1st place in the NSSA National Championships, a goal she had been trying to achieve since before the shark attack. In 2008, she began competing full-time on the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS). In her first competition against many of the world's best women surfers, she finished 3rd.

well, the first song i used is from the Soul Surfer soundtrack! :) well actually, all of the songs i used in the video are from the soundtrack haha except "Walk on the Water." i just used it cause i liked it

hmm...well this video is taking forever to upload! You know what, this video also took FOREVER to render on sony vegas :O! I finished the video on friday, so i proceeded to render it and the estimated time was 2 HOURS and 30 minutes!!! so i was like, eff this and went to bed! i was going to render it in parts on Saturday, but i went to my school's senior play then i spent the night at a friends house, so i couldnt. THEEN today i came home and downloaded sony vegas on my dad's laptop (which took FOREVER cause the keygen kept saying error -_-) but it finally worked and i moved my .veg file and all the clips i used to my dad's laptop and rendered it on there. So it was faster since his laptop is new and has like nothing on it.
So yeah :) now you guys are probably wondering, "dangg. why did you go through all the trouble to upload a sucky video?" WELL, i was suppose to upload this on friday because it was one of my BEST friend's birthday :D I just wanna say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AP! :D i loooove you x3 YOU'RE 15! WOO PERMIT! please drive safely :) well, i don't know if you've seen this movie, and i feel bad that i didn't make you a special video :( but i have finals this coming week so i've been so busy! but i promise i'm gunna make you a special video and send it to you soon :D

you did an amazing job on this video. I watched soul surfer and I walked out of the movie theathre with a whole different perspective on life. The movie changed my life, Bethanny Hamilton is my idol and shes brave and amazing! The only bad thing, after I saw soul surfer Im scared of sharks, I wish I could surf though it seems cool, go bethanny hamilton!
