I remember when this commercial was actually on TV. Not long afterward I played my cousin's copy of Metroid II and later got a copy for myself, which I still own to this day.

That's one of the scariest things I've ever seen--when the announcer's eyes glow red when he says, "Destroy...OR BE DESTROYED!"

This commercial is wrong about the setup for the game. Samus is just going to the Metroid home planet. There wasn't a metroid that survived and multipied.
