First time I saw the "grannie" sunglasses was on the cover of the Soft Machine fourth album, on Mike Ratledge. Went out and bought one right away and had the shop put dark glasses on them. Since I was myopic -and still am- they were not much help as glasses go and actually made me look funny when I was walking in the street. I thought I looked stoned so that was cool too.

personally im a huge beatles fan but i think opressing what other people enjoy musically is the exact opposite of what any of the members of the beatles would have wanted. the beatles did their thing and now bieber does his thing whatever that may be. i dont care for it auditorily but im not going to oppress someone just because they do. everyone just sit back and enjoy the beatles man.
