Diplomatic efforts to end the conflict are continuing both in and outside of the Arab world.

An Israeli delegation is in Cairo to discuss a ceasefire plan. Egypt says it has obtained agreement from Hamas on the broad outlines of a truce. The group, however, says it still has some reservations.

People people please..before we start blaming anybody has anyone stopped for a second to realise how much of a hand the mass media has behind this entire conflict?? the reality is the overwhelming majority of palestinian and israeli people simply want their little bit of land and peace and quiet. It's the politicians on both sides who are continuing this conflict to suit their own ends..1.5 million palestinian live perfectly fine in israel and in the future pal state should b 250,000 jews..

Israel has treated the Palestinians like dogs for 40 years. Yes, the Palestinians reacted violently at times but Israel does not and never has wanted peace. Israel wants all Israel and wants to oppress, control and dominate all Arabs within Israel.

One rather has to be loyal to a common sense, not a particular religion as you suggest. Peace, equality, and basic human right for all is the only way to stop the suffering that the religious zealots in various societies are promoting left and right. No religion is better than the other, and eye for an eye just makes the whole world blind. Talks -> compromise -> peace! That's what i say is the philosophy of the decent people.

The problem with your logic is that while you don't mind Israel getting itself armed up to it's teeth, you seemingly deny Palestinians ANY right for their own self defense, and I DON'T APPROVE of their rocket fire, but it appears they have little to no other ways to strike back for the systemic deprivation of land and freedom that they endure from Israel on the daily basis. Just try to put yourself into their shoes, and you may begin to understand how few realistic options they really do have.

Everything i said is factually correct, and since you aren't refuting any of my sentences i take it as the confirmation of that fact. I could in turn call you a racist bigot who is attempting to impose different standards on different people. The blockade was introduced as a punitive measure against Palestinian electoral choice of 2006, and there is no denying that the blockade by itself every day was taking lives of people who no longer had an adequate access to health facilities and medicine!

That is simply incorrect, for the entire time of the recently expired "truce" (in quotes because Israel has pre-emptively and self-apologetically broken it by raiding Palestinian gunmen) Gaza has REMAINED under total blockade from land air and sea! In fact the blockade was imposed solely to de-legitimize the democratically elected Palestinian majority party which Israel did not approve of, and rockets have absolutely nothing to do with it.

Israel is emulating Nazi Germany because it is slowly expanding - stealing land and resources and has done so since it was established back in 1948.

This is the root cause of the conflict.
