@label1877 I still think that's a load of bull about the 1950s and 60s. Like I said, people around my age tell kids today how perfect the 80s and 90s were, and the kids actually BELIEVE THEM!! They say the same crap, that we didn't lock our doors during the 80s and 90s. It was far from perfect, but every generation likes to rag on the one after them and glorify the time they grew up in, and every younger generation likes to laugh at all previous generations. That's the way I see it.

I'm buying from this guy!

This man was Ralph Williams pitchman, Mr Chick Lambert what was called in the old late nite TV ads. This guy had a dog named Storm ( on the hood) yes sir funny as hell.
RW moved from LA where he had a FORD dealership. He then moved to where this ad was made, near San Francisco international Airport is located. This ad was about 1968 or thereabouts. He eventually moved to Seattle.. Today the dealership is a HONDA operation and what I have heard does Ralph Williams proud. Chick and RW great 5/5

@label1877... where'd you get your information... I had heard this DID air as it was live (not recorded) and an expression of some dissatisfaction of salesman Chic Hearn who did most of Ralph's commercials (as his last official action before quitting). Obviously a much more interesting story if what I heard is right. So again very curious where you got the impression that "This NEVER made TV"

During the late 60s, most television programs and commercials Were live. There were some obvious problems with this method. No "retakes" and "bloopers" were a regular occurrence. This is no blooper! This guy was just very upset with his boss He quit right after this commercial . And told it like he thought it was. What a great job of ad-libbing. He never misses a beat while, if you listen carefully, you'll hear the cameraman and soundman lose it. The commercial got on the air, but only once!

@gothatway09 This NEVER made TV... this was a manager blowing steam at his boss. Your parents were right about morals from their time. Up until about 1976 people did not remove their keys from their cars. There were PSA's informing people to take their car keys every time. The entire time I grew up... we never locked our house...even to go on vacation. Of course we lived in a mid-size city... in large cities this was not the case. My son is 29 and if he rolled his eyes at me today...Jesus.

Now that's salesmanship. Truth in advertising.
