Mexico cartel violence: 10 Policemen arrested
The men are being held for 40 days while the killings are investigated. The preventative detention will allow investigators "to strengthen evidence that the men arrested undertook criminal acts in support of the 'La Familia' Michoacana (drug cartel) and determine their responsibility for the murder of federal agents," prosecutors said in a statement. The bodies of 11 men and one woman working for the federal police were found shot execution style, stacked one on top of the other, and bearing signs of torture. Last weekend, "La Familia" launched a series of multi city coordinated attacks against federal police posts and convoys in Michoacan.

Pakistan militants threaten NGO workers
For more than 6 years workers in the non - governmental organizations have been deterred from working by the militants. Many people including fresh graduated have been from working in the NGOs and those already working have been forced to quit their jobs. Few if any measures have been taken by the authority to ensure the safety and the right to work of these people resulting in an increase in unemployment and insecurity particularly in the tribal belt. It would be reckoned as breakthrough if the government takes legal action and collaborates with non government sector in preventing the vicious elements from deterring the public from working in organization of choice. In addition preserving the cultural diversity is also mainly left to the NGO sector and the government needs to collaborate with these organizations in securing the cultural heritage of particular areas.

Kenyan airlines under terror threat
Insecurity has remained a major cause of fear in the country, now airlines have been forced to resort to private security plans. Some airlines flying into Jommo Kenyatta International Airport have hired private security firms to guard their passengers, Cargo and aircraft. Although US and Kenyan authorities say there is no immediate threat of terrorism to the airport or to airlines operating there, previous incidents have raised concern. Kenya has been hit with three major incidents over the past 11 years. The question of security at the Nairobi airport was raised again last month when Delta airlines abruptly canceled an inaugural flight from Atlanta to Nairobi after the transportation security administration declined to sanction the route.

Tadrart Acacus, UNESCO World Heritage Site
Tadrart Acacus is a desert area in westernLibya and is part of the Sahara. It is situated close to the Libyan city of Ghat. Tadrart means 'mountain' in the native language of the area (Tamahaq language). It has a particularly rich array of prehistoric rock art. The Acacus has a large variation of landscapes, from differently coloured sand dunes to arches, gorges, rocks and mountains. Major landmarks are the arches of Afzejare and Tin Khlega. Although this area is one of the most arid of the Sahara, there is vegetation, such as the callotropis plant. The area is known for its rock-art and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 because of the importance of these paintings and carvings. The paintings date from 12,000 BC to 100 AD and reflect cultural and natural changes in the area. There are paintings and carvings of animals such as giraffes, elephants, ostriches and camels, but also of men and horses. Men are depicted in various daily life situations, for example while making music and dancing.
