I've been told that as well. It may be better to use a glass pot but I've found little difference as long as the water is distilled.

You need to use distilled water. Otherwise the minerals in regular water will bind and disrupt the process . As for boiling I find that it helps speed up the process. I've heard of others who don't boil but they take a lot longer.

@jayebrite You don't have to buy one. You can make a simple homemade device with just the basics. 3 9-volt batterys, silver electrodes, and distilled water is really all you need. Good Luck

There ain't no "right" way to make colloid; we're too new on the learning curve. You made a lot of ions, which are a disinfectant -- just not as potent as nano-particles. All a TDS meter shows is your ion content.

The colour of silvers plasmon resonance is yellow/gold, Metalic silver nano particles between 0nm - 20nm are yellow to golden in colour and the liquid should be crystal clear! how ever, he is using a tds meter which gives a reading of say 10 - 20 ppm, but a tds meter can only read the ionic content, not the metalic, so what he has there is a good mix of both metalic nano colloids and ion's, when you perform electrolosis on silver above 90 DEGREE'S ions reduce to metals

Your instructions on doing it right start out wrong! Don't use a metal pan! It has to be glass!!
