You can't really compare the 2, their actually very different, even though bullet are HUGELY influenced Tallica
Metallica have written some amazing riffs
Bullet have their fair share
Hetfeilds voice us unique
Tucks is good, but he does scream a bit
Kirk is a god
Padge is good
Bullet are a lot more modern
Tallica are kinda stuck in the late 80's
( not that that's a bad thing :) )

I perfer BFMV cause they're more my style. Metallica is awesome but i never got into them big time. But Metallica is the better band.
