Laurie goes out door-knocking every night during the election to talk to the residents of Edmonton-Centre. I asked her what issues were being raised the most and she said that she'd been hearing a lot of questions about post-secondary education. In this video Laurie discusses her views and Alberta Liberal policy on topics like: investing non-renewable resource revenues in endowment funds, lower tuition, on-campus housing, college and university infrastructure, legislating tuition increases to make it a more public discussion, reducing student loan interest rates, the "university experience", short-term rent control, expanding Alberta Opportunities Bursary, recognizing regional disparities and spreading funding throughout the province.
I love the point about bringing the tuition policy back into Legislation.
It's about accountability and right now Albertans don't have that.
Good luck on March 3, Laurie!
