@drafe007 It's okay- I'm not so much erudite, just old. (Major Matt Mason was an astronaut action figure (doll) with bendy arms and legs. Very popular in the late 60s-early 70s.

I've always felt that this movie was the odd man out in the mst3k program. There's a lot to like about this movie, the idea of international collaboration for one, the actual existence of a plot for the other. I wish they had spent some time exploring the ideological subtext of it, because it really is a propaganda film in the guise of an SF adventure. Instead they treated it as the usual poor homegrown SF fare.
