Once seedlings get to a given size if you are not ready to plant them into the garden yet they often need to be "potted up".

This video show you how to do that and explains the why behind it. It also explains how to "prick out" pepper seedlings to make use of extra plants.

  • I learned that you should sterilize your blade (with a 1:9 bleach solution) before you cut into plants to help prevent infection.

I don't know if that really applies here or more to grafting, but it couldn't hurt.

  • @nafterize I have never done that and never had a problem. I would call it over kill. How sterile is a blade once you cut into one pot and through the dirt in that pot? Grafting I agree on but for root cutting and trimming I have been doing this stuff since I was 8 years old and never had a problem. That would be 29 years by the way. ;>)

  • Thanks Buddy. Having the same issue with my Bhut Jolokia's.

  • 5 stars Jack!

  • Jack: The best close up YouTube guy I know of is nutnfancy. You could really take advantage of better closeups in a video like this one. I don't know if he uses anything special, but you might look into it.

  • That is one thing you never see in a BOB. A box cutter. Very important tool.

  • Thanks Jack!

  • Another great video Jack.
