This clip is of the WWII TBM Avenger torpedo bomber. Two restored aircraft are shown. These aircraft are powered by the Wright R-2600, 14-cylinder, 1,700-hp radial engine. BIG smoke and noise!.. This is the aircraft that U.S. president George H.W. Bush (Bush senior) flew and was shot down in during WWII in the south Pacific. Wonderful pieces of USA and world aviation history!

  • thanks for adding footage of the mighty TBM Ive been waiting for a long time for your very good quality videos for one of these

  • Beautiful bird. The forestry service up here in New Brunswick still operates 3 Avengers for forest fire water bombers. Must be getting hard to find people to keep these machines in operating condition now.

  • was this aircraft at the rocky mountain airshow
