Words by Miss Oudean, music by Miss Jorgensen. The result, a complex and moving new bluegrass tune. One of the best I've heard. And I'm pretty sure this song is just the tip of a new iceberg in the sea of bluegrass music. Many thanks!
@leeboysouth Bill Monroe (the Father of Bluegrass) developed the sound with his band "The Bluegrass Boys", in 1945. That's a bit before the 60's. Perhaps you're thinking of the progressive bluegrass sound of The New Deal String Band from the late 60's. Sam Bush took this concept even further with his band Newgrass Revival in the early 70's
although this is a newly written tune, it would fall in the genre of old time, instead of bluegrass. bluegrass players don't mind having their tunes describe as old time, but old time players don't like being describe as bluegrass (which is a fairly new kind of music from the 60's and is very tightly defined.) however this band mainly leans toward bluegrass this tune is not bluegrass.
