@blueice990 btw the country sun yat sen envisioned was chaotic and plagued by conflict between warlord establishments so without a strong central government, china would have been much different.
Its easy for you taiwanese to judge china on its short comings, but the current system is generating results for its people.

@Sp3ll633 So Sun Yat Sen called for KMT to conduct "white terror" on both mainland and Taiwan, the KMT and CCP are not much different, there are fundamental reasons why the peasant class overthrew the KMT and drove them away. The Communist Party today attempts to maintain a confucian state, one that's free of turbulence as it continues to grow. China is land / people / culture, all of which on the mainland.

@blueice990 to be more specific. The China today doesnt follow the principes from our founding father Dr. Sun Ya Tsen,party leader of the KMT and 1st president of the Repbulic China. This China we see today is ruled by a regime who does not follow these principes. So who is the real "China" now? the nationalists or the commies?
So Taiwan still follow these rules. If the CCP think they are such a glorious nation.why they have great Firewall,no freedom of press,speech and thoughts.

@Sp3ll633 modern taiwan is made up of ethnic taiwanese and descendants of 2mil + mainlanders who settled in Taiwan after KMT lost the chinese civil war. So the real china is PRC, where 1.3 billion chinese live.

Youtube is blocked in China, but this is only 1 of 14 websites that are blocked by the Chinese Government and the need for using the internet in China is far less great than in the Western World,
since Chinese people spend more time with their families and friends than they do on the computer.
Chinese people don't need a Facebook because they have 1) email for long distance and 2) faces with which to talk to each other (and phones).
