@gregbass73 That's what I'd like to know, lol! Album this song came from was already completed at the time ('Child of the Seventies'), but at the very last minute some brain-dead Atlantic higher-up decided it was better to just put it on the shelf and forget about it. Maybe they just weren't ready to give Bettye the same push they gave Aretha 6 years prior, who knows...

Girl's still out there rockin' it. She was on Austin city limits a season or so ago, and impressed the hell outta me, which ain't easy.

Just discovered this woman a couple of nights ago. Can't believe I grew up outside Detroit during the motown days and never heard of her. Seems at least as good as Aretha Franklin or any of her peers.
