this is a response at the video [The Simpsons, Cartoon and Real Life Intro] that shows where the simpsons live in the U.S. I have put a transparent map of the U.S. over the frame from the video and it clearly shows where they live. It is either in Springfield Wisconsin or Springfield Illinois, and Springfield Illinois is too far south according to this clip, and google maps.

  • Its not anywhere here. Its in North Tacoma or New Jersey because a letter from lisa to Mr Burns said CMBurns,Springfield NJ

  • I have a videotape confession of Lisa saying it's Virginia.

  • It's Illinois. That's where it intended to be. I have an old tape of Bart rapping, this was from the early 90's. He clearly says, "Yo I'm Bart Simpson from Springfield, Illinois, USA"... It is not Wisconsin.

  • They live in springfield Kentucky. They even tell you in one of the episodes.

  • you guys do relize that they made it up and trew anything into the show the live no where its made up

  • @VStarVan well, then North Tacoma must be located in Wisconsin, as well as being the smallest state/province in the world.

  • @VStarVan

Sometimes Homer has his genius moments, maybe when the crayon in his nose isn't touching his brain for that certain split amount of time. And yes, Behind The Laughter was an off screen look, so the actors, that means that the actors live in Kentucky. But you still can't dis-credit the movie... even though those 4 states are no where near each other.

  • They live in North Tacoma, a made up state created by David Silverman, one of the directors.

  • @mechaghostman2 It can't be in kentuky if they boarder it, and in Behind the Laughter, half the time they say Maine to confuse veiwers. Plus the episode is considered non-canon because the simpsons play actors of themselves. Third, is Homer really a reliable source?

  • 3 episodes point to Kentucky. It even says it in "Behind The Laughter." Tthis northern Kentucky family" And in another episode it is asked what borders springfield to the south, Homer says Tennesse, what is north of Tennesse is Kentucky. And in the movie it says Ohio, Nevada, Main and Kentucky! 3 votes for Kentucky!
